This week I’m taking part in the Book Bloggers Hop hosted over at Crazy for Books and Follow My Book Blog which is hosted at Parajunkee, head over to their blogs to find out what its all about and sign up to take part :) This weeks question from the hop is… Who is your favorite new-to-you author so far this year? *sighs* I’ve tried to just pick one and I really really can’t. I’ve discovered so many great authors who’ve been added to my favourite author lists this year. So I’m just going to leave you all a little list to check out ;) Carlos Ruiz Zafon- I read The Shadow of the Wind by him as my very first book this year and wow it blew me away. It’s the kind of book that I’d recommend to everyone and anyone as it has something for everybody. Lauren Oliver - Before I fall was amazing and I’m really looking forward to Delirium Simone Elkeles - I adored Perfect Chemistry and have since brought all her other books to read. John Green – Uber funny guy and fantastic writer. I could go on and on for a while so I’ll leave it at that with my top 4. Here’s to finding many more favourite authors this year! Big thanks to you all for stopping by my blog. I have 92 followers and would really love to make it to a 100 so if you like what you see please follow and remember to leave me a link to your blog so I can check you out too :) Happy hopping!

Booking Through Thursday

Which fictional character (or group of characters) would you like to spend a day at the beach with? Why would he/she/they make good beach buddies? I’d have to say Belly, Conrad and Jeremiah from The summer I turned pretty and It’s not summer without you. Both books I read earlier this year and loved as summer reads. Since reading the books I’ve wanted desperately to spend a summer at Cousins Beach with Belly and her summer boys. They’d make the perfect beach buddies. I’d sunbathe with Belly and chase the boys in the water then as the sun begins to set I’d sit Belly down for a heart to heart and give her advice on which boy to go for then I’d watch her go and tell that boy how she feels and watch them kiss as the sun sets. I of course would then go and console the other brother :P Conrad or Jeremiah I really wouldn’t mind which! I loved this weeks question please leave me a link with your answers for this week :)

Gorgeous Book Trailer for Linger!

I also discovered the other day this gorgeous book trailer for Linger. It’s beautiful. One of my favourite book videos so I thought I’d share it with you guys, here it is! :) *settles down to watch it for 100th time* If you love it check out my review for linger and leave a comment!

Review for Linger by Maggie Stiefvater

Let me start off by saying that the first book in this trilogy Shiver is one of my all time favourite books. It’s my idea of the perfect read. It’s deeply romantic, tragic and haunting so ever since I turned the last page - tears silently running down my cheeks - I’ve been hungry to get my hands on Linger. This is one of my most anticipated reads of the year and it didn’t disappoint. In Shiver Sam and Grace got their happy ending. Sam’s cure worked. He stayed Sam forever shedding his wolf’s skin and everything was perfect - or so we thought. In Linger Maggie Stiefvater shakes things up again. Sam still can’t quiet believe he’s really been cured and is cautious to get hopeful about any sort of future. Plus there’s still his family, his pack, in the woods. He doesn’t miss his life as a wolf but he misses his father figure Beck and the rest of the pack and is eagerly waiting for the warmer days when his friends will start shifting back to human form. Grace is struggling to keep a balance between Sam and her parents whilst all the while she’s keeping a dangerous secret. One that could threaten not only her relationship with Sam but her life and as time draws on she finds herself changing in ways she never could have expected… This book was amazing. I loved it. Maggie Stiefvater has a real way with words that really brings Sam and Grace’s relationship to life. Although this is a supernatural story above all it’s a love story and a tragic one at that. I love the characters especially Sam who is my ideal guy and Isabel who’s beautifully broken. The end of this book had me in tears yet again and I was desperate to give it 5 stars but had to knock it down to 4 and a half just for the fact that I really didn’t like Cole and found his chapters made me lose interest although he did redeem himself at the end of the book which raised my opinion of him a little. That really didn’t take away from the book that much for me though and now I’m counting down the days until next summer when the final instalment of this trilogy Forever comes out. Well worth the wait and highly recommended 4.5 stars. My Rating 4.5/5 stars ****1/2

Review for Forget You by Jennifer Echols

I’d never read anything by Jennifer Echols before until Forget You even though I’ve heard plenty of good things about her books. When I found out what this book was about I knew I had to get it as it sounded like my kind of book. That and the beautiful summery cover which will look gorgeous on my bookshelf - always a bonus! So I pre-ordered it a few weeks before it was due to come out and found myself counting down the days until its release date. Lucky for me Amazon sent it out to me early so I got to read it a little before it came out in stores. It didn’t disappoint. Zoey is perfect. Or at least she likes to appear that way. She makes good grades at school. Has started a relationship with popular gorgeous Brandon and plays the part of the perfect daughter. Little does everybody know that Zoey’s life isn’t so perfect. Her father has got his twenty four year old girlfriend pregnant with love child behind her mom’s back and her mom’s not coping so well with the break up. In fact she recently tried to take her own life. Something Zoey wants to keep private, even from her closest friends. Zoey would love to forget all of these things. Then Zoey’s in a car crash and the next day she can’t remember the entire night before. Afraid to admit her amnesia to anyone after her dad threatens to get her sectioned like her mom Zoey sets off to try and find out what happened that night on her own. Why is bad boy Doug acting like something significant happened that night? And why does it feel like Brandon’s avoiding her? Controlled perfect Zoey is coming apart and it looks like she’s going to have to get some answers and find out some truths in order to get it together. I really enjoyed this book. Zoey felt like a very real character and I loved watching how Doug and Zoey’s relationship developed. The book deals with some serious issues but still manages to keep the story easy and light to read. I didn’t really like Doug at first but by the end I adored him which just goes to show how good Jennifer Echols is at developing her characters. The reason I didn’t give this book 5 stars though was because I found the ending a little too happy. As I mentioned before the book dealt with some serious issues and I felt like the ending was a little too convenient given the circumstances, and I felt like the ending should have been more hopeful than happy as it just didn’t seem to gel with the feel of the rest of the book. Other than that I found this to be a great read and will definitely be reading more books by Jennifer Echols in the future. I just wish they’d publish them here in the UK! 4 stars. My Rating 4/5 stars ****

In My Mailbox the 4th

In My Mailbox is hosted by The Story Siren Hey guys, after last weeks HUGE haul I only got 4 books this week. I’m really excited about all of them though. Leave me a Mr. Linky with what books you got this week in the comments. All descriptions are taken from either Amazon or Goodreads. First book in my mailbox this week was bright and early on Monday The Karma Club by Jessica Brody. I really like our UK cover for this it looks fun and summery. The Karma Club by Jessica Brody "Personally, I’m tired of waiting for the universe to get off its butt and start fixing stuff. I don’t want to wait around for Mason to get what’s coming to him. Or Heather Campbell, for that matter . . . I want to be there to see it happen." Madison Kasparkova always thought she understood how Karma works. It’s that mysterious, powerful force that brings harmony to the universe. You know—do good things and you will be rewarded, do something bad and Karma will make sure you get what’s coming to you. A sort of cosmic balancing act. But when Mason Brooks, Maddy’s boyfriend of two years, gets caught tongue-wrestling with Miss Perfect Body Heather Campbell, and absolutely nothing happens to either of them—except that they wind up the hot new couple of Colonial High School, it seems like Karma has officially left Maddy in the lurch. That’s why Maddy and her best friends, Angie and Jade, decide to start the Karma Club—a secret, members-only organization whose sole purpose is to clean up the messes that the universe has been leaving behind. Whether they’re modifying Heather Campbell’s acne cream as part of “Operation Butterface,” or righting a few wrongs when it comes to Angie and Jade’s own slimy exes, they know they’re just doing what Karma should have done in the first place. They’re taking care of one another. Sometimes, though, it isn’t wise to meddle with the universe. Because it turns out, when you mess with Karma, Karma messes back. Now Maddy must find a way to balance her life for good, even as everything around her seems to be toppling to the ground. The next book I was so excited to get and am currently reading it now and loving it Linger by Maggie Stiefvater Linger by Maggie Stiefvater In SHIVER, Grace and Sam found each other. Now, in LINGER, they must fight to be together. For Grace, this means defying her parents and keeping dangerous secrets. For Sam, it means grappling with his werewolf past ... and figuring out a way to survive the future. But just when they manage to find happiness, Grace finds herself changing in ways she could never have expected... Then I got this book after my good friend Rachel read it, gave it 5 stars and commanded me to buy it! Plus I love me some dystopia! This has such amazing reviews I'm dieing to read it. Noughts and Crosses by Malorie Blackman Noughts and Crosses by Malorie Blackman Sephy is a Cross - a member of the dark-skinned ruling class. Callum is a nought - a 'colourless' member of the underclass who were once slaves to the Crosses. The two have been friends since early childhood. But that's as far as it can go. Until the first steps are taken towards more social equality and a limited number of Noughts are allowed into Cross schools...Against a background of prejudice and distrust, intensely highlighted by violent terrorist activity by Noughts, a romance builds between Sephy and Callum - a romance that is to lead both of them into terrible danger... This ones a new book that only just came out this week I believe. It sounded like something I’d enjoy as I love books about road trips. Take Me There by Carolee Dean Take Me There by Carolee Dean Seventeen-year-old Dylan's father is about to be executed for shooting a policeman 11 years earlier, and Dylan is determined to get to his dad's Texas prison to say goodbye. Dylan and his friend are also on the run: from the police, for violating probation after serving time in juvie, and from gangsters. Dylan's long, first-person narrative spins out a plot that gets more and more convoluted, with dramatic vignettes that flip between past and present as Dylan hides that he can barely read, hooks up with sexy Jess, takes on his fierce grandmother, and confronts his own guilt. Jess is too perfect to be true, but the family secrets create powerful drama. Is Dad protecting someone? Why does Dylan remember handling the gun when he was six years old? What really happened that night? Dylan's doubts reinforce the universal father-son tensions and the horror of capital punishment as tension builds to the execution by lethal injection. So that's what I got this week, what did you get?

Review for The Reckoning by Kelley Armstrong

This is the third and final book in the darkest powers trilogy there may be spoilers from the first two books you have been warned! I’ve really enjoyed this young adult series by Kelly Armstrong, and so I’m definitely going to be checking out her adult books in the near future. If you’re reading this review then I take it you’ve read the other two books and know what the story’s about so I won’t go into that. Chances are if you enjoyed the first two books you’re going to enjoy this one- I know I did! As usual the writing was brilliant, the plot action packed and the characters their usual delightful selves. I really wanted to give this book 5 star’s because I really have enjoyed this series but I was really rather peeved that a lot of my questions didn’t get answered. I know that Kelley’s releasing another series set in this world with some of the characters from this series in it but I felt a bit cheated that if you want some answers you’ll have to read the other series to find out. I really think that was unfair and she should have tied everything up properly. You don’t get to find out why Chloe’s necklace changes colour and what that means. Nor do you get to really find out what happens to Rae which really irked me. I will be reading The Gathering though so hopefully I’ll get my answers eventually, but still definitely a bit of a con to get others to read her next series. Over all though I thought this was a very enjoyable book and I loved seeing Chloe get the boy I hoped she’d end up with. Thank you Kelley Armstrong for writing such a wonderfully action packed original series. My Rating 4/5 stars ****

Teaser Tuesday (2)

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading . Anyone can play along just do the following: • Grab your current read • Open to a random page • Share two (2) "Teaser" sentences from somewhere on that page • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! • Share the title & author too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR lists if they like your teaser! My Teaser ''After four nights on the run, I was finally safe, tucked into bed and enjoying the deep, dreamless sleep of the dead…until the dead decided they’d really rather have me awake. It started with a laugh that slid into my sleep and pulled me out of it.'' From page 1 of The Reckoning by Kelley Armstrong Choosing this weeks teaser Tuesday was really hard because I’m reading one of those books that’s so action packed its hard not to spoil it especially with this being the last book in the trilogy I really didn’t want to ruin anything for you guys so I just went with the first two sentences of the book and lets face it there two pretty good sentences to suck you in! I really love this book and hope to finish it soon. Please leave me a link with your teasers for this week :)

Review for Beastly by Alex Flinn

I really love reading fairytales and fairytale retellings, so with this being a modern retelling of my all time favourite fairytale Beauty and the Beast I knew I had to read it. This book has recently been made into a movie which looks pretty good so I wanted to get it read before the film comes out. I’ve heard nothing but good reviews for this book and I like the majority enjoyed it. Kyle Kingsbury is beautiful on the outside but ugly on the inside. All that matters to him is looks and he torments and pranks “the ugly kids” at school. His most recent prank is on Kendra the typical Goth girl at school. He invites her to go to the school dance and plans to humiliate her by turning up with the hottest girl in school and announcing to everyone that he never intended to be her escort. This time Kyle has messed with the wrong girl. Turns out that Kendra’s a witch and she casts a spell on Kyle to make his appearance reflect how hideous he is on the inside. However if he can find someone who can see the beauty inside him despite his appearance, get them to fall in love with him and him her and seal the deal with a kiss he will be returned to his former self. He has two years to break the spell, but lets face it how can anyone ever love someone whose so perfectly beastly? This book is a fun read whilst at the same time hitting some of the classic important issues raised in the Beauty and the Beast tale. This is a story of finding yourself, learning what’s important, and realising that beauty isn’t skin deep. I loved how Alex Flinn made this book modern and current using internet dating, being homeschooled and other such things whilst also keeping some of the things that makes the original so special and magical like the rose and the mirror. This is a really great book which I would recommend to everyone who loves fairytales young or old. I recently ordered off Amazon Alex Flinn’s latest fairytale retelling of Sleeping Beauty- A Kiss in Time which I’m very excited to read. A fun read that addresses some serious issues. 4 stars. My Rating 4/5 stars ****

Book Hauling Road trip! What did we see? What did we buy? What did we do?

Hey guys, so I figured it was time to do my post on the bookish road trip I went on. In case some of you don’t know me and my best friend Rachel @ In the library of ladyviolet went travelling around bookshops in the midlands purely to find books and visit some bookshops. On the first day we went to visit our good friend and fellow book blogger Ellie @ Musings of a bookshop girl who has her own little second hand bookshop Book End.I ended up raiding the bookmarks there as they had some really cool bookish ones and I’m quiet the bookmark addict! I also ended up getting a few books and the lovely Ellie gave me one of them free which was very nice of her! Sadly with Ellie working and all we couldn’t spend as much time with her chatting as we would of liked and so went off to look around some other bookshops in the area, but we made sure to stop by Book End after our shopping to say our goodbyes to Ellie and show her what we got. I loved both Ellie and Book End and honestly didn’t want to leave - however we’re planning on doing another road trip like this before Rachel heads back off to Uni at the end of summer so it wont be long until we can see Ellie and the shop again, yay! Seems as we were in the area next we headed off to look around Chatsworth house which was gorgeous. I only wish it wasn’t raining so we could have looked around the gardens but never mind it’s always something we can do next time! So after a rather long bookish day we headed back to Rachel’s house to do some Vlog’s on what we got up to and then crashed because we were so tired. The next day we woke up bright and early (yes bright it actually wasn’t raining!) and raided Rachel’s local bookshops. We found so many bargains that it was almost like fate and we actually blew all of our money and had to go back to Rachel’s early – this is probably why the fates decided we would live close together but not too close as it’s really quiet dangerous to our bank balances to be together in a bookshop for a great length of time. So then we tottered back to Rachel’s skint but rather content and by the time we had some lunch it was time for us to go and pick up Rachel’s sister from school so we could go and watch eclipse! I actually really enjoyed eclipse it’s definitely the best out of the films so far. By this point however I was starting to feel really ill so we had to cut the trip short there for me to go home and rest. Three days later I’m starting to feel a bit better so decided to finally do this post and catch up with my blog. I miss Rach sooo much already and really wish we could have had more time with Ellie :( Hopefully it wont be too long until our next trip though so I can see two of my most very favourite people in the world again! Over all I had a fantastic time (being ill aside) and over the two days we got a total of 38 books, 22 books being mine! Please go and check out both Ellie and Rachel’s book blogs, and have a nose at the pictures we took and the vlog’s we made (Vlogs can be found on Rachel's Youtube Chanel HERE) I’m now going to be counting down the days until the next trip! My Books Leviathan - Scott Westerfeld The Magician's Guild - Trudi Canavan The Secret Scripture - Sebastian Barry Petals on the Wind - Virginia Andrews Desire - Louise Bagshawe Be Careful What you Wish for - Alexandra Potter Living Dead in Dallas - Charlaine Harris The Bed I Made - Lucie Whitehouse The Forbidden Game - L.J. Smith Into the Garden - Virginia Andrews My Single Friend - Jane Costello Dead to the World - Charlaine Harris Lucky - Alice Sebold Numbers - Rachel Ward Hunger - Michael Grant Cross Stitch - Diana Gabaldon Club Dead - Charlaine Harris My Worst Best Friend - Dyan Sheldon The Other Boleyn Girl - Philippa Gregory By Midnight - Mia James Flowers in the Attic - Virginia Andrews Cuban Heels - Emily Barr Rachel's Books A Kiss in Time - Alex Flinn Noughts and Crosses - Malorie Blackman The Sky is Everywhere - Janny Nelson Prophecy of the Sisters - Michelle Zink The Alchemist's Daughter - Katherine McMahon The Lightning Thief - Rick Riordan Twenty Boy Summer - Sarah Ockler Gone - Lisa McMann Crusade - Robyn Young The Summer I turned Pretty - Jenny Han Dreamland - Sarah Dessen Sister's Red - Jackson Pearce Requiem - Robyn Young Cracked Up to Be - Courtney Summers Guitar Girl - Sarah Manning By Midnight - Mia James

Like it’s not enough Cooper was lying to Eliza for their entire relationship, now he and his friends are blackmailing her. They’re giving her just one night to complete the most humiliating tasks on her list or they’ll post her secrets online—including the ones that aren’t just about her. Eliza’s sure of only one thing: she isn’t going down without a fight. Cooper may have what’s left of her dignity, but she’s not the only one with something to hide … Watch Me by Lauren Barnholdt She thinks she has nothing to hide… Ally has everything under control. She’s about to move into a house full of strangers and have her life broadcast to the world, but as long as she still has her long-distance boyfriend, Corey, nothing can go wrong. Nothing, that is, until Ally starts spending time with her housemate Drew, the hot and sensitive guy who always seems to be around when she needs someone the most. As suspicions and lies start pulling Ally and Corey apart, she’s not sure if she can trust anyone, not even herself. Ally is about to learn the hard way that life is what happens when everyone is looking, and it doesn’t always capture her good side… Everlasting by Angie Frazier Sailing aboard her father’s trade ship is all seventeen-year-old Camille Rowen has ever wanted. But as a girl of society in 1855 San Francisco, her future is set: marry a man she doesn’t love, or condemn herself and her father to poverty. On her final voyage before the wedding, the stormy arms of the Tasman Sea claim her father, and a terrible family secret is revealed. A secret intertwined with a fabled map, the mother Camille has long believed dead, and an ancient stone that wields a dangerous—and alluring—magic. The only person Camille can depend on is Oscar, a handsome young sailor whom she is undeniably drawn to. Torn between trusting her instincts and keeping her promises to her father, Camille embarks on a perilous quest into the Australian wilderness to find the enchanted stone. As she and Oscar elude murderous bushrangers and unravel Camille’s father’s lies, they come closer to making the ultimate decision of who—and what—matters most. Beautifully written and feverishly paced, Everlasting is an unforgettable journey of passion, secrecy, and adventure. Fat Cat by Robin Brande Cat is smart, sassy, and funny—but thin, she’s not. Until her class science project. That’s when she winds up doing an experiment—on herself. Before she knows it, Cat is living—and eating—like the hominids, our earliest human ancestors. True, no chips or TV is a bummer and no car is a pain, but healthful eating and walking everywhere do have their benefits. As the pounds drop off, the guys pile on. All this newfound male attention is enough to drive a girl crazy! If only she weren’t too busy hating Matt McKinney to notice. . . . This funny and thoughtful novel explores how girls feel about their bodies, and the ways they can best take care of their most precious resource: themselves. Just One Wish by Janette Rallison Seventeen-year-old Annika Truman knows about the power of positive thinking. With a little brother who has cancer, it’s all she ever hears about. And in order to help Jeremy, she will go to the ends of the earth (or at least as far as Hollywood) to help him believe he can survive his upcoming surgery. But Annika’s plan to convince Jeremy that a magic genie will grant him any wish throws her a curveball when he unexpectedly wishes that his television idol would visit him. Annika suddenly finds herself in the desperate predicament of getting access to a hunky star actor and convincing him to come home with her. Piece of cake, right? Janette Rallison’s proven talent for laugh-out-loud humor, teen romance, and deep-hearted storytelling shines in a novel that will have readers laughing and crying at the same time. Tell Me a Secret by Holly Cupala It's tough living in the shadow of a dead girl. . . . In the five years since her bad-girl sister Xanda's death, Miranda Mathison has wondered about the secret her sister took to the grave, and what really happened the night she died. Now, just as Miranda is on the cusp of her dreams—a best friend to unlock her sister's world, a ticket to art school, and a boyfriend to fly her away from it all—Miranda has a secret all her own. When two lines on a pregnancy test confirm her worst fears, Miranda is stripped of her former life. She must make a choice with tremendous consequences and finally face her sister's demons and her own. In this powerful debut novel, stunning new talent Holly Cupala illuminates the dark struggle of a girl who must let go of her past to find a way into her own future.

Review for Two-way Street by Lauren Barnholdt

This book was just AMAZING. Seriously this is now one of my all time favourite books I just loved everything about it. I’ve had this one on the shelf for a couple of months now and really wanted to get it read over this summer. I’m going on a road trip of my own (thankfully not with an ex) next week so I thought I’d pick this up to read and take with me whilst I’m away with it being relevant and all. So what started as me saying to myself I’ll just read a few chapters soon turned into me devouring the entire thing in one sitting, darn you Lauren Barnholdt! Now I have to find something else to take with me on my trip! Jordan and Courtney were the unlikely high school couple. Jordan the heartbreaker who doesn’t believe in relationships and Courtney the good girl who always plays it safe never dreamed they’d fall for each other but they did and it worked. That is until Jordan unexpectedly dumps Courtney for a girl he meets on the internet. Courtney never wants to see Jordan again and is mortified when she finds that not only will she have to put up with him at college but it’s too late to change plans for their road trip to orientation together- the trip is on! Courtney’s heartbroken but figures she can tough it out for three days and act like she doesn’t care. But it turns out that Jordan cares a lot. Jordan’s got a few secrets he’s keeping from Courtney about why they had to break up, why they can’t ever be together again, and why despite everything Jordan still loves Courtney and never wanted to break up with her in the first place… This book is told from both Courtney and Jordan’s perspectives switching from the trip to the past when they first got together, which I loved. You really get to see how in love Jordan and Courtney were and you really want to know what made Jordan leave the girl he loves and let me tell you the twist is awesome and made me actually fall in love with Jordan myself. Courtney can get a little annoying at times but Jordan and his hilarious best friend B.J definitely make up for it! Courtney and Jordan are the kind of couple you’re rooting for all the way through the book. Sweet and funny this is definitely a book I would recommend to read this summer. Lauren Barnholdt you have yourself a new fan! I brought her other two books One Night That Changes Everything, and Watch Me earlier this week they both sound great and if there as good as Two Way Street I’m in for such a treat! 5 stars. My Rating 5/5 stars *****

Review for Sisters Red by Jackson Pearce

I’ve wanted this book ever since I very first heard about it months ago. I really love fairytale re-tellings and seems as this is a re-telling of Little Red Riding Hood I knew I had to add it to my collection. What I didn’t realise however was that this has been released in the UK so I was really happy when I found it in a bookshop and realised I didn’t have to order it off Amazon. Scarlett and Rosie March hunt Fenris (Werewolves) and have done ever since a wolf entered their home, killed their grandmother, and left Scarlett one eye short and covered in horrendous scars whilst killing the wolf to save her younger sister Rosie. Scarlett lives for the hunt, strong and ruthless she’ll do anything to take the Fenris down and protect her sister. Sweet Rosie hunts because she feels like she owes it to her sister for saving her life but really just wants to be a normal teenage girl. There are only male werewolves and they only feed off young pretty girls so the sisters are the perfect prey especially when they wear their red capes as the Fenris can’t resist the colour red. The sisters are a lethal team but when Scarlett’s old hunting partner Silas comes back after a year away and falls for Rosie the sisters get caught up in more wolf business than they ever imagined… I really enjoyed this book. I loved both Rosie and Scarlett they were such awesome kick ass characters and I really loved the plot and how it was such a funky modern re-telling of Red Riding Hood. I couldn’t give this 5 stars though as I guessed the ending straight off the bat and I was right so that took away from the book a little for me as I would have liked to have been surprised. I’m not sure if this is the start of a new series but I really hope we’ll see more from The March sisters, if there’s a sequel I’ll definitely be buying it! 4 stars. My Rating 4/5 stars ****

Booking Through Thursday

''Do you have friends and family to share books with? Discuss them with? Does it matter to you?'' I love this weeks question and just had to answer it seems as it’s really relevant to me at the moment. I’ve never really had friends who love to read like I do up until last year- as last year I met my now best friend Rachel on a twilight book forum. We got talking because we had tons of books in common and then we figured we lived close to each other so decided we’d meet up and the rest is history! Actually I’m going to visit her for 3 days next week and we’re going to spend a lot of our time doing bookish things. I also met my other friend Ellie off Librarything and she loves to read too, so I’m really grateful to the internet book community for bringing two awesome people into my life and who knows maybe I’ll meet even more bookish friends in the future? I love talking books with them and being able to recommend them things I think they’ll like and vice versa. No one in my family really reads that much except for my aunty who really sparked my love for books as a child and I’m really getting my 2 year old cousin into reading which from my experience can only be a good thing for her! I’m always happy to buy her whatever books she wants and read to her and I hope I can inspire her to carry on being a reader through her life. Then of course I have all my followers and people from book websites who maybe don’t live as close as I’d like to be real life buddies but who I love talking to and discussing books with none the less, I heart you guys! I hope you enjoyed my answer! :)

Waiting On Wednesday (3)

WoW is hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine! "Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating. This week's pre-publication "can't-wait-to-read" selection is: Delirium by Lauren Oliver February 1st 2011 by HarperTeen (This is so new it doesn’t even have an official cover yet so I’m just going to use a pic of Lauren herself instead :)) From goodreads: Before scientists found the cure, people thought love was a good thing. They didn’t understand that once love -the deliria- blooms in your blood, there is no escaping its hold. Things are different now. Scientists are able to eradicate love, and the governments demands that all citizens receive the cure upon turning eighteen. Lena Holway has always looked forward to the day when she’ll be cured. A life without love is a life without pain: safe, measured, predictable, and happy. But with ninety-five days left until her treatment, Lena does the unthinkable: She falls in love. Before I fall was AMAZING I adored it and this sounds AMAZING too I can't begin to tell you how excited I am for this one. Bring on Feb 2011! Feel free to leave me a Mr. Linky to your WoW’s this week in the comments!

Review for Dreamland by Sarah Dessen

First things first I want to say that this book holds a very special place in my heart. It’s one of my favourite Sarah Dessen novels (and I’ve read them all- some over and over!) and probably the book I can relate most to out of all of the many books I’ve read. Sarah Dessen bravely tackles the subject of violence in teen relationships, something I myself went through a few years back when I was 15. Now I don’t know if Sarah’s ever been through this but she gets the feelings the main character Catlin goes through spot on. This is the third time I’ve read this book and each time I fall in love with it all over it again reading parts with tears in my eyes. Caitlin’s perfect older sister Cass runs away with a boy on Caitlin’s 16th birthday which is probably the only reckless move she’s ever made in her life. Lost without her older sisters guidance Caitlin soon gets involved with bad boy Rogerson who keeps her on her toes and keeps her mind off missing her sister. But when Rogerson starts getting violent Caitlin needs her big sister more than ever, so she starts writing to Cass telling her everything that’s going on with Rogerson in the dream journal Cass gives to her before running away. She doesn’t know with Cass gone if Cass will ever get chance to read it but feeling like she’s communicating with her sister gives her comfort. With her parents wrapped up in finding her sister, her cheerleading friends Rogerson has isolated her from gone, and a missing sister Caitlin’s never felt more alone. It’s up to Caitlin and Caitlin alone to get away from Rogerson and save herself before it’s too late. This is such a brilliant book guys. I would really recommend this to any teenage girl seems as violence in teen relationships are getting higher and higher. Caitlin’s story’s so tragic and honest and I can 100 per cent vouch that this story tells it as it is. Totally recommended, 5 stars. My Rating 5/5 stars *****

Book Bloggers Hop (2)

The book bloggers hop is hosted by Jennifer @ Crazy-for-Books Hello and welcome to anyone who’s hopped onto my blog this week. This is only my second week blogging and my second week doing the hop and I just love it. Please leave me links to your blogs bellow I’m loving finding new people to follow! :) Now a new twist has been added to the hop where we answer a question which I think is great and this weeks question is… Tell us your NAME and WHY YOU STARTED BLOGGING My names Jessica and I started blogging 2 weeks ago. Before I started blogging myself I followed a lot of people anyway and thought it looked like so much fun, but always put off doing my own out of fear that no one would really be interested in what I had to say and that I wouldn’t update it as often as I’d like however so far this is proving untrue! I’ve met so many lovely people (and hope to meet more!) and have found myself updating quiet regularly and its so much fun! I hope you guys are enjoying my blog as much as I am. Happy reading! :)
